The Hadith: “All of you are shepherds and each of you is responsible for his flock” this is also general. The man is a shepherd for the people of his household and he is responsible (for them). And the woman as well is responsible over her flock…

The people of her husband’s household. Being vigilant over her children, serving her husband at home, taking care of all the household affairs. For she is responsible over her flock in all that. So it is obligatory…

Upon the wife to fear Allah in regards to the rights of her husband and that she fulfills her duties. And it is likewise obligatory upon the husband that he fears Allah in regards to the rights of his wife and that he fulfills his duty. And if they both were to cooperate…

Together and fulfill their responsibilities then both their rights are attained. And the affairs between them are rectified. But if this one and that one falls short then that is a great danger (to the marriage) and it is upon both parties to strive in fulfilling the rights that are upon them.
